We had an amazing time at the insectarium! It was definitely better than I ever expected. The staff member that was on duty was super friendly, knowledgeable, and you could tell that she was passionate about all of the creatures she helps care for. I’m pretty sure we would have stayed in the butterfly pavilion all day if we could have. They really make the most out of the two stories that they have. My 5 year old and I throughly enjoyed it here. You really can get quite close to the displays so children can really see (and they have step stools). We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was not crowded at all. The Butterfly Pavilion is Heaven. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff and volunteers.

The only real place in Philly for a true insect learning experience. The building itself could use a little TLC but the animal/insect facilities are in great shape. Their butterfly pavilion is much better than the Franklin Institute. Highly recommended for a day out.
