Saw Dr. Akbari after being diagnosed with cancer in two tumors and one lymph node. I was very surprised that she recommended removing all of my lymph nodes under that arm, as the current recommendation is to first test a sample of the lymph nodes to see how many might be involved. (Removing all of the lymph nodes may get rid of the cancer, but greatly increases the chances of developing lymphedema in that arm.)
