She took the time to go over all of my imaging, explain what everything meant, draw pictures along with her explanations and answered all the questions I had with patience and knowledge. What I appreciated most is that right after she examined me she said you’re going to be fine then said ok get dressed and then we will spend the rest of the time talking. Saw Dr. Akbari after being diagnosed with cancer in two tumors and one lymph node. I was very surprised that she recommended removing all of my lymph nodes under that arm, as the current recommendation is to first test a sample of the lymph nodes to see how many might be involved. (Removing all of the lymph nodes may get rid of the cancer, but greatly increases the chances of developing lymphedema in that arm.) Dr. Akbari and every member of her team were professional, kind, and showed a genuine sense of caring and empathy. Having come to this office for a second opinion after not feeling entirely comfortable with the first office, the decision to choose this practice was a no-brainer.
Everything about the upcoming procedure was explained by the doctor with the doctor notes being provided to me. Possible outcomes and treatment were also explained. Staff who assisted with appointment scheduling were extremely competent.
