There was a lack of actors in the rooms. The rooms were nice to look at at least. There were four different lines to deal with. The shuttle bus line, the ticket line (even if you bought your tickets on groupon), the entrance to the grounds line, then the line to the actual haunted house. 4+ hours waiting. The speedy ticket makes no difference in waiting. The general admission line was a shorter wait. It was opening weekend so maybe they'll work things out.

Dont bother. Waited 4 hours for this dump. Bought vip and line was longer than GA. This place will not last if it keeps operating this way

OH MY F@$#ING GOD! HellsGate was AMAZING! So much detail! The sets, the actors, and the soundtrack engulf you into the Darkness of HellsGate! A must see for haunt enthusiasm!

Let me first off say that it appears most people are giving bad reviews based on wait times. We got to the metra station around 730 and waited an hour over all that wasn't bad it broke up the waiting, waited 15 minutes for tickets we had pre purchased tickets with a speed pass however due to the exorbant amount of speed passes we opted to go through general admission we waited around an hour here, at some point there was a mad rush of people to the front and the woman at the front was not equipped to handle this, a few do go... read more

Business response:

Thank you for understanding. We appreciate you looking beyond the surface problems we experienced on our opening weekend. We look forward to seeing you again sometime.

The animation & props were awesome but it was not scary at all.

The pro to this attraction is that I actually imagine this is what hell would be like. But not because of the house itself... Waste your money, but seriously do NOT waste your time. You move from place to place waiting in a different line and not a single person working the queue had any idea of wait times, nor were they at all empathetic-\-\if anything they were rude! ("It's not our fault so many people showed up." Excuse me, but don't set a Groupon for 1000 purchases and then be shocked when people actually purchase it AND... read more

Great concept, great potential, but needs major work. Wait times were ridiculous, woods and mansion were done well, but needed more scares, actors needed . Save your money on fast pass, worthless. Went to another last week and it was much scarier. Won't return to this one or recommend to anyone.

The bus ride from the Metra station to the attraction was the best part. It starts with a line and goes to another line and then another broken up by some actors trying to scare you. I think I was startled once. So disappointing. A big thumbs down for this.
