Dealing with State Collections has been a NIGHTMARE! The have been harassing me for almost a year with daily phone calls over a $36.14 bill. I repeatedly asked them to send me a bill. I have never received a bill and questioned the validity of there collection. They were very rude and couldn't send me in the right direction to get this resolved! I never did pay them directly, as I wouldn't trust them with ANY financial information. I paid the bill directly. I WOULD NEVER HIRE THIS COMPANY TO COLLECT DEBT FOR ME!

I had a heart ablation performed in July 2017. The total procedure cost upwards of $30,000. My insurance covered roughly $25000. I was in the hospital for less than 24 hours, so the bill was over $1000 per hour. What a crock of nonsense (to be polite). Procedural complaint- they put me under, then partway through the procedure, they have to move me to another room because the equipment failed! So I'm groggy, and they tell me to move myself to another table because they can't move me (I'm 6'5" and 215 pounds, not fat-muscle, ... read more

My wife, and I, unfortunately owe a debt to a large hospital. The result of an accident in the summer of 2015, has forced me into collecting S.S.D.I Payments, and we are blessed to be collecting that income monthly. But now that I am disabled, the phone rings a lot everyday, but, "State Collection Service, Inc.", has been the most upbeat, and professional company, besides a few others, that have treated us with total respect, and they have worked with us from the get go. The professionalism of their staff, is 100% The Best. ... read more

This collection agency is one of the worst I have ever dealt with. They do not seem to care about consumer rights, nor do they care to operate with integrity. This agency lied to the BBB and did not research my dispute. they are posing as they are the creditor and is not. They only care to make money off people's alleged debts. In dealing with medical collections companies like these need to understand the rights of the consumer as Health care providers must be required to send itemized bills for all charges. Patients have a... read more

State Collection Service policies will have your debt go to judgement before they decide to change their business practices. I refused their phone call for 4 months because of they way they call you and want to verify your personal information before they divulge who is calling and who they represent. I thought they were scammers. So, this last time they called, I decided to verify the wrong address they had for me when they gave me a hint. Unbelievable. They say it is for my protection that they not divulge who the company ... read more

I have had an ongoing saga with State Collection Service for two years. My newborn was emergency transported at birth to a Level 4 NICU after a serious injury sustained at delivery. While the hospital was in network, each doctor was out of network, and State Collection now has the doctor bill in excess of 62,000 for two and a half weeks of doctor visits. I never received a single written notification from State Collection, just harassing phone calls starting mid-2015 to pay this full amount, which I was never informed was ow... read more
