Love this place, great atmosphere friendly staff, we come here every year for a family holiday get together. Looking forward to coming in the summer to enjoy nature and the waterfalls.

Went there in freezing cold to see eagles! I actually enjoyed myself. Had a cabin with a fireplace and we were nice and cozy for the evening. Good time!!!

My family and I had a large group (23) meet for Sunday brunch to celebrate my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary. They charged us $15.99 each for a mediocre buffet with reconstituted eggs, raw prime rib, a bin of bacon grease, soggy undercooked french toast, old corn, and dry fried chicken. Not only was the food terrible, but we were charged a mandatory gratuity for food that we got ourselves and drinks that we couldn't get refilled, and they started breaking it down pretty much immediately after we got our first plates.... read more

I LOVE the Lodge and restaurant. Always have and yesterday was no different. I had the "Hangover Burger", I believe it was called and it was amazing. I was delighted when the waitress informed me that I get to keep the beer glass, then I left the darned thing on the table upon leaving. 😢Great job! Starved Rock remains to be one of my favorite places.

I'm going to be brutally honest. The lodge itself is a beautiful rustic place. I worked there when I was in high school in the 70's, and I cleaned hotel rooms, cabins and also worked in the kitchen. The place looks great for it's age. My review is based on the buffet we had on Sunday. We had a large party celebrating an important anniversary. I appreciate they had accommodated us toward the end of the serving period. We had a chance to visit & take photos while we waited for our table to be ready. Unfortunately, the food was... read more
