Stay away from AHN EMERGENCY ROOM, ERIE PA! The first waiting area looks a lot more like something out of the 1960s than the 21 century. The staff pick and choose who to wait on first, and if you have been there recently, you know that it is typically not someone of color. I'm speaking from my own experience (my husband is a person of color) and having been there twice recently. Was here for over 4 hours, got surgery day prior to coming and was bleeding lots and they didn’t do anything or even help figure what was wrong
I came here with very bad pain in my toe due to an ingrown toenail. When I checked in I was asked how much I rated my pain, I said a 9 out of 10. I warned the staff that I didn't have insurance and that meant I went there because I was really in pain. I waited in line for more than 2.5 hours, after which the PA examined me, made a small puncture in the wrong place and said that there was no abscess.
