My deaf aunt has been in their care since Wednesday night (it is now Sunday). She has been refused an interpreter over and over again. They did surgery, had her sign pre-op papers, and all meetings with Drs and nurses have been without an interpreter. They sometimes offer her an interpreter through an iPad, but she is also blind in one eye and has told them many times that she cannot fully understand the interpreter on the iPad. The St. Jude Acute Rehab staff have been amazing. The DR.’s, Therapist, Nurse’s and CNA’s are all top notch. In the beginning there were times I wanted to give up due to pain but thankfully they never gave up on me and 2.5 weeks later I’m ready to go home. Thank you ARU for giving me your support, kindness and the push I needed to be independent.
