I’ve had several friends & family treated at SJMC. The majority of the time the care has been excellent. Yes I will say we have waited hours in the emergency room at times. Unfortunately there’s nothing that can be done if there are too many patients for the facility at one time. Also there were times when the hospital was so full it was very difficult to get attention for things we wanted. However, our needs were always met. On May 3, 2018 at 8 p.m. I had a Flash Pulmonary Edema downstairs at a meeting in St. Josephs Hospital. Due to the efficient and caring staff in the ER I am here today. It all happened so quick I truly thought it was the END. They were very quick in their treatment and assurances that kept me here not only physically but mentally also. Spent all afternoon in the ER with my mother in law and 2 ER nurses, one i wasn't able to get the name of and the RN named Erick is telling me I need to go wait in the car with my infant daughter while my mother in law is treated for approximately the next 5hours. Apparently it's against policy to have an infant in the waiting room. Even though she wasn't the only one.
April 15th 2018 I was admitted to the ICU for a blood sugar that was over a thousand. I was not a diabetic so I didn't know what was happening to me. I was in the ICU for three days. During that time I received wonderful care. The nurses Ashleigh, Janet, and Monica took such good care of me. I have to give a special shot out to Monica who calmed my fears and let me know that I could do what needed to be done to get my sugar under control. This place is horrible...i wouldnt bring my enemy to this place. The service is shit and the security is an ass. I hope u dont have medical u will get seen the next day.
