Sprout is no ordinary salon. Patrons can come here knowing that their choice is making a positive impact on the planet and their health. Sprout uses natural products in an industry where they are usually full of harmful chemicals. They offer haircuts, color services, extensions, beard and bang trims, and more. While you're here, you can also pick up some items from their line of hair and skin care products.

Sprout Rocks! – I had a haircut phobia for years, but Cliff cured it. He's awesome! On my first visit, he took extra time to consult with me (and to reassure me) and gave me the best cut I've ever had. Now I see him regularly for a cut and color, and I look forward to going in. Sprout itself is a beautifully designed space with attention to all sorts of cool detail. The co-owner, Alan, is a total sweetheart, and his organic products rock. I especially like the texture spray. I can't stop raving about Sprout!
Rip off for crappy work – Went to Sprout, had my hair conditioned twice instead of shampooed. My hair looked nasty with the excessive conditioning product and the hair stylist ignored it, tried to spritz some water on it but it looked like they smothered Crisco on my hair. The haircut cost $50+ It was a HUGE waste of money and time to go there. Total rip off and terrible customer service that problem with shampoo was ignored.
What a horrible place! – Organic?? These are a bunch of fakes, who say that they are for the earth and not harming yourself with chemicals, when the owner has more tatoo's than bare skin. Does she think shoving dye under your skin rank as organic? My hair stinks...literally, and they didn't listen to a word I said of what I wanted. Save yourself a lot of money and go to a REAL hair salon. Tabatha would laugh you out of business.....I am more organic than you will ever profess to be. A total sham.
A beautiful cut for me – I got the haircut I've been dreaming about since 2003 from Holly today. She was fastidious and meticulous and a real Baltimore girl, through and through. She rocks and really knows what she's doing. Beautiful cut in a beautiful place.
Horrible Expereince.. Where do I begin? . Arrogant Stylists.. Expensive.. No consultation – I had a similar experience as some of the other reviewers about Sprout. They did not consult with me, just started cutting my hair and coloring it. I asked questions but it almost seemed like I was bothering them by asking. No customer service at all. They almost act as if you should be so worthy to go to them to get your hair cut and colored. Never again.
Terrible color experience – Having just moved to the neighborhood, I thought I would try an Organic salon, which is inline with my philosophy about beauty products. I had bleach blonde hair, which was really really bright when I walked into the salon, and wanted to step down to a sandy brown. I choose the color from the swatch book, along with my stylist, which was NOT an unreasonable color (some people want to go from black to blonde or blonde to bright red with highlights which is not possible in one sitting).Anyway, despi... read more
FABULOUS color & cut from Holly! – I am the type of person who is never satisfied with her hair, and I am constantly changing styles. For the first time in my life, I've found a hairstylist who makes me happy with my hair that I'm not changing it anymore. I was recommended to Holly at Sprout and have never looked back! The coloring is all organic. Now, I'm not a very "Earthy" person, but here's what I *can* see from that: the color lasts longer, fades out more evenly, smells better, and my hair feels WONDERFUL. As for the cu... read more
Expert color and styling at Sprout – I recently had highlights, a cut and blow-dry at Sprout for the first time and am thrilled! Naomi was my stylist, and she certainly captured the "look" of the photo of the hairstyle I had brought as a guide. I felt I was in the hands of a pro...she was an expert with the color application (base color and highlights went more quickly than I've experienced elsewhere, but without the smears on my neck and face I've experienced elsewhere), and she was meticulous in her styling, taking time to... read more
Not worth it... – I live really close to the salon, so I thought that I would give it a try. I don't mind spending money on a haircut...I have long hair and only get it cut a few times a year. I got an appointment with the owner, Rachael. I have curly hair and she was recommended for curly hair. Since I had never gone to see her before, I assumed that she would want to see what my hair looks like dry. She didn't see me until after I had been washed and didn't really have much of a consultation with me. The cut seemed fine, I... read more
