Sports Column

About this business

Denver's preferred spots for local sports fans, Sports Column, offers five big screen televisions along with flowing booze and great grub. The typical bar food menu offers big portions at small prices, making it perfect for groups. Bronco fans fill up the room on Sundays in autumn, so beware of showing other team allegiances. The rooftop patio bar provides refuge from the sports scene and a dance floor draws an older crowd on Friday and Saturday nights. Rip roaring fun for all!

Worst service ever – While meeting with me brother at the bar for the UFC fight my brother and his friend were drinking beer. I came about 8 p.m. and my brother offered to pay for my two drinks about 9 p.m. We were VERY nice to the waitress (Becca) she was very rude and threw the bill onto our table (did not thank us or even ask if we were still drinking). We were not tabing out simply paying for our drinks separately. My brother because of her attitude only tipped 10%. She grabbed the bill looked at it in front of us shook ... read more

Had a great time! – Just happened to stop in over the weekend. What a great place. The place was packed with Iowa Hawkeye fans cheering for their team. The service was great, the beer was cold. The bartenders were great. Will be first stop next time I we're back in Denver.

Laaaaaaaaame – $1 you call it Thursdays are hideous. If all you care about is getting drunk cheaply, then by all means, this place is for you....granting you can get to the ridiculously over crowded bar. It smells like beer and urine and it takes about an hour to get across the bar. I've only been there Thursday nights, so I really can't comment on any other time there, but I hate it with a burning passion...

WOW – I love the fact that they occasionally have people monitoring the bathrooms. They only have them when they are really busy. Typically restaurants hire these people for customer service purposes and that has nothing to do with how many "stars" they feel they are rated. Another reason why restaurants/bars have bathroom attendants is to help keep the peace. They help prevent graffiti, fights, and more importantly drug use! Tipping is optional, if you don't have the money or you don't feel like tipping - Don't tip. Most ba... read more

great atmoshphere, bad service – Great to watch sports, join the college scene on Thursday nights (and cheap drinks!), but poor service from servers and managers. Some of the bartenders are pretty cool, but mostly average. The only thing that makes this place stand out is that it's a pretty chill place. The party-goers are friendly and the scene is anti-poshy. hooray!

Great Sports Bar – The SC is a great place to watch football of any kind in a passionate and energetic atmosphere. In no way are you forced to have a Broncos jersey to enter the door. Fans of all shapes, ages and jersey colors go here. The location is right in LODO and a few blocks from coors field. The food is surprisingly good and I highly recommend any sports fan on a diet to try their version of the Philly Steak sandwich.. :) Overall it is the best sport bar in Denver, hands down.

The next best thing to getting tickets to the big game. – In Short This place is one big room crammed with boisterous fans. Big-screen TVs flicker everywhere except the bathrooms. The bar serves a full menu, including burgers and other usual bar favorites, but many people come just for the atmosphere on big-game days. Customers don jerseys and wear their hearts (and spilled ketchup) on their sleeves. Beer is always available, of course, and can be enjoyed on the patio upstairs during spring and summer.

great place – This is a great sports bar. Good food, good atmosphere. They have great chicken nachos. The drink specials are worth checking out.
