First time here & will not be back. They were not too busy on Sunday morning when we arrived. We were beginning to think we were invisible as it was awhile before anyone came to take our drink order. I ordered a bowl of fruit & an English muffin-dry (no butter). The fruit consisted of about 3 bites of cantaloupe, maybe 2 strawberries-sliced, mushy banana, & way too many grapes-which were still on the vine. The English muffin was over toasted. Amazing! We finally found our new café! We're building in McKinney, so my husband and I decided to hit downtown McKinney for a date night. After wandering around we settled on Spoons. Every single aspect of the meal was wonderful! GREAT service, friendly and fast,, fabulous food (try the friend Okra, to die for!), mouthwatering deserts. We sat outside on a perfect spring evening. Can't wait to go back and bring the kids...it will definitely be our McKinney "go to" family restaurant. :)
Sat Night was the perfect patio night!! We sat outside in a high top table that wasn’t steady - needed something to keep it from being wobbly and the table was also too large in the small area it was placed so I couldn’t sit next to hubby but sat across from him, which didn’t make for a romantic dinner. The food was “ok”...I asked for my burger to be cooked medium but it came out well done - I didn’t send it back coz my hubby’s meal was just fine. The Mac and Cheese was good and the coleslaw. The staff, aside from maybe 1 or 2 servers are inept. I just had a kid try to stick a pile of napkins under one table leg to avoid it from rocking on me only for him to make it worse. But he wanted to go in and get MORE napkins for the other side. Wth is wrong with these people?! I got so upset, I left!
Even before I met Karen, Spoon's was one of my favorite restaurants to visit when I'm in McKinney. Amazing food - especially the coconut cream pie!!
We have come to Spoons several times and absolutely love it! The service is great, and the food is awesome and reasonably priced. Probably our favorite spot on the square, and we will be back again soon!
I had the Low Rider for lunch. It was so delicious! Our waitress was very friendly and excellent.
