We used Hilton points to stay Thanksgiving day. We had an early, casual Thanksgiving dinner at the Sheerwater and it was excellent! Hung out at the pool, walked on the beach and watched the sunset! Then ordered pizzas at Eno and sat by the fire pits! Another great meal in a beautiful setting. We were upgraded to a garden room with a beautiful patio right on the ground floor. Rooms had mold on ceiling and all over walls In bathroom, no one answered the phone for guest services except for one time in the middle of the night AND got a hefty dose of food poisoning from the boardwalk cafe. Not enough staff for a holiday week. Rooms really need attention. We understand that the hotel is historical but you don’t expect the ceiling to be buckling and mold growing on it. Its all about the ambience. Went with friends from out of town, Alaska. Excellent cutomer service from valet to the 1500 Oceania Resturant. Presentation of food, excellent. Food fair at best and extremely over priced. Dont go if your hungry! Very small portions. Its again about the experience.
Amazing of course! When I can smell the slight odor of bleach when I walk into a hotel bathroom...HAPPY!
