Great place for guys to get a haircut – Call and make an appointment with Vera if you're looking for a good haircut. Much better than the strip mall Supercuts nonsense and not all fruity like the salons. I've been going here for years and I always have a good cut.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!!!!! – Tip is the very best there is! He has been doing my hair for over 20 years and I would follow him to the ends of the earth (or end of my hair). I currently live on the south side by White Sox Park but trek up north to get my hair done right. The atmosphere in the salon is like sitting around at someone's house everyone is so friendly. I would recommend this shop and Tip to anyone.

Awesome!! – I have been having my hair styled by Vera for as many years as she has been a stylist. I live in the Western Burbs and travel into the city for hair highlights and cuts for myself and cuts for my daughter. It has always been well worth the road trip!! Vera is definately the color queen. My current cut and color ROCKS!! The rest of the staff is just awesome.

Hairdini – Seventeen years ago, I stalked a woman in Bloomingdale's to find out where she got her locks coiffed. She told me Vera Degiorgio...ever since then, I have been having my hair colored by a true professional. Vera takes her time with every client, insuring that they walk out looking and feeling better. Her entire staff are friendly, skilled specialists. The salon is clean and has an extensive selection of hair care products for every type of hair.

Best neighborhood salon – I found this place a few years ago and even though I moved to the South loop area, I still make the trek to this northside salon. Tip is an awesome stylist/colorist with a wacky sense of humor to boot. And you can always count on Regan to give you THE best manicures/pedicures around. All in all, it's a very warm and inviting place to be in and on top of that, very reasonably priced- especially for the city.

Friendly, inviting, professional local salon! – Last week I was in a bind! I recently moved to the city and had yet to find somewhere to get my haircut. I needed to get it done pronto, because of an event Friday morning. At 4 PM, thursday afternoon, I called a few places I found on metromix/google... Friendly stylists with extensive experience, best manicures and pedicures anywhere, warm and inviting atmosphere. – Southport Hair Studio is one of those salons like the one in Steel Magnolias.
