Great oysters and loved the service! – We had a great experience at South Street. Myself, husband and 1 year old came in for lunch and the manager talked to us like he had known us for years. The entire waitstaff catered to us when our server was overwhelmed. Everyone was kind and talkative. Besides that the food was awesome and hope to get a babysitter and come back for a Saturday night out!! Highly recommended!
A fun place to eat or drink. – My favorite casual place in Nashville. The food is good but it is not cheap. This place is priced like everything else in the neibhorhood. The food is GREAT. I love the steamer bucket. If you want to split something and you both are hungry try the crab and slab(three kinds of crab and a big slab is ribs). Shrimpy Portions and Rude Waiters – This place is on my list of "I'll never eat there again." The tater tots were some kind of experimental fried mashed potatoes that resembled hush puppies with mushy innards. My girlfriend had a seafood "platter which consisted of three malnourished shrimp, five scraggly calamari, and fries. A fun place with great food and atmosphere – No two ways about it, South Street is a fun place to be and the food is mighty good. Sit upstairs in the tree house and whittle away time with friends sharing oysters, ckicken legs, and drinks. Always a winner – One of the best bets for your money in Nashville. Casual fun atmosphere. Come dressed up or down. This is dive bar meets music row. Bad service – I went to this resturant on Sunday August 8, 2005. I sat at the bar and the bartender was both rude and gave terrible service. When I talked to the management the next day about my visit, they did not give me the impression that they cared. It was as the manager put it "I think just a missunderstanding of communication". I can spend my "dinning out dollars" elsewhere. I do not reccomend this resturant to anyone.
Definitely Going Back – I was a little scared when I looked down at the menu, but after figuring it out, I have decided this is one of the best places to eat in Nashville. The price was great. My friend and I both had a half rack of ribs plus sides, bread, drinks, and slaw for under $25. I think they might have had the best ribs I've ever had. The service was very friendly and helpful, you can tell they like their job. They treated me like one of their many regulars, even though this was my first time.
