Full knee replacement did not go well at all. Many complications. Took almost 18 months to be able to reasonably walk. First weekend out of the hospital, had significant swelling and pain, called to get advice form doctor, call was not returned. Instructions from doctor post surgery were insufficient. DO NOT recommend him!
After experiencing complications from a simple procedure, this guy and his staff had no time for me. I quickly found another doctor who was able to do immediate emergency to clean up the painful infection he and his staff ignored (and literally laughed at).
Dr. Sorrell is one of the most caring physicians I have ever been treated by (Left shoulder surgery). Would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. In addition to myself, he has treated my father twice (hip replacement and biceps tendon repair), my nephew (broken arm), my stepmom (rotator cuff) and my wife (knee). Honestly - couldn't imagine going to see anyone else or recommending anyone else for any orthopedic needs.
Dr. Sorrell has performed surgery on me for a torn rotator cuff and both knees for a torn meniscus. He has also performed extensive rotator cuff surgery on my husband. He is a very caring, kind doctor who listens to a patient's concerns. He is willing to explore other treatments before surgery. I could not be more pleased with my outcomes. I highly recommend him if you have orthopedic concerns.
Dr. Sorrell is the most kind and patient OS in Birmingham. He takes the time to listen and is never quick to do surgery. If you need a great doctor who pays close attention to your individual needs, Dr. Sorrell is the best! Also, his PA Greg is just as amazing.
Would recommend DR.Sorrell to my friends. Bedside manner is wonderful. Appears to care about his patients. He has operated on my family , friends and I, we would all recommend him.
