Looking forward to returning – I went here this afternoon with my friend and we had a lovely time. The staff was very friendly and efficent and the food was excellent. We started with a crispy goat cheese salad which was the perfect size for sharing. The Pizza Margarita was very flavorful, but unfortunatly they brought it out at the same time as the salad so it got a little cold. We finished with a strawberry filo dessert which was amazing. Nice, very nice. The food's pretty good, and the prices are rather high, but not outrageous. It gets very crowded though, so be careful about what time you go, it can be difficult to hear people talking. Also, they have a downstairs area with a bar (can also be rather unpleasant when crowded). I have to say though, I find it creepy to walk by when people are sitting there watching you while they eat. PS: I believe they also have free wireless.
Best people watching on Newbury Street Sonsie has lasted because it's consistently good and the service is up to par. The menu changes a few times a year but you can always ask about your favorites. They might still be able to make them for you. Have dessert only in the tables up at the front or settle in for a meal in the dimly lit restaurant area. Try Harder – My friend and I went for drinks and dinner on Wednesday night and were so turned off by the pretentiousness, we left. The hostess was incredibley rude and would not seat us because we had someone (who wasn't even eating) joining us later. It just seemed like they were trying SO hard, we had to laugh. If you are looking for a warm, classy place to eat, Sonsie is NOT it.
Nice Experience – I recently tried this place for the first time with a group of friends. We had heard rave reviews and so we decided "why not try it". We had a good time. The service was excellent. We sat at the bar for a bit and it wasn't too long a wait to get a table. The drinks are great. The menu choice is good. There's alot to choose from. The crowd was a good mix too. All in all it was an enjoyable evening. Everyone should try this place ...it's worth it!!
Super – We went to this quaint, AWESOME place for our two close friends' birthday celebration (my sister and a friend) and we had a BLAST!!! First of all, the service from the hostess was very warm and inviting and even the waiter as well as the bus boy were so professional and friendly. great desserts Sonsie is a a great place to grab a bite to eat and do some people watching. They offer a front area with french doors that they open during nice weather to offer a view of all of the people strolling and driving by. The bar area of the restaurant often gets packed at night. romantic dinner Great restaurant with a great selection of menu. Romantic place, great for a date, anniversary, or valentine day. You have to make a reservation especially on weekend. Never expect to walk in without any queue. their dessert is just simply the best. However, it is a struggle to find a parking spot, otherwise you park your car in the garage parking.
