I moved to Pensacola 3 years ago from CA. My father's wife set up an appt for me to see Dr Whitaker for my Primary doctor. Her clinic is just down the road from where I live in Perdido Key. I have been an RN for over 40 years. My first impression was that I liked her. She was very energetic and seemed like she knew what she was doing, By my second visit I was waiting for more than 45 mins past my appt time. New patient. My assessment of her is that she has received above average medical training, is highly skilled, very observant, intelligent, very thorough and applies her skills in a very efficient and timely manner. I would definitely rate her as above average.
I have always been treated with respect and her diagnosis has always been spot on. I feel very comfortable with her and know that she is listening to me. She explains things well and makes sure I understand what she is saying. The whole staff has been wonderful.
Although the beginning of my experience with Dr. Whitaker was helpful and she was thorough, but as I had more appointments with her, she became very controlling. I am a nurse and when I would explain how I was feeling or described what I thought was wrong, she tried to make me feel like I knew nothing and was a hypochondriac (which I am far from). Dr. Whitaker is a great and wonderful doctor. She cares about her patients and very thorough. I have never had such a caring and loving doctor like her. I have a lot of health issues and she has helped me a lot.
Dr. Whitaker is a very smart and caring doctor. She always greets you with a smile and hug. I have been her patient for over 2 years. She listens to your concerns, she is thorough, explains your health issues and makes recommendations of how to treat you. I have many allergies and health problems and she will refer you to specialists when necessary. I’ve never had a doctor that is so concerned about me, as an individual, like Dr. Whitaker. She goes the extra mile. She truly is a jewel!!!
I have been a patient for a few years and feel like Dr. Whitaker and her staff have gotten sloppy with their promptness. It takes many days to get prescription refills and it took 2 weeks to get my results for an echocardiogram which she had the results the day after i had the test. I feel there is much room for improvement on their patient communications and promtness.
SHE IS VERY PRECISE AND CARING
I have been dr. Whitaker's patient for almost three years. She is very compassionate, warm dr., who excels in the field of medicine. I am grateful to have her as my primary care dr. RCFS
