Great Color & Cut – I had brassy orange highlights that I wanted to cover. I went to Aquas but the colorist failed to cover the highlights. She suggested a recolor, but I thought why go back for more of the same. Aquas also will not dry your hair after you get colored. Not my idea of a full service salon. Then I found JR at the Salon on Kirby. JR gave me great colora soft chestnut brown and a great cut. He checked (at least a dozen times) the length on each side of my head to make sure that I was getting a precision cut. JR ... read more
Gilbert @ SOK – My husband was recommended by a friend to go and see Gilbert, our friend has been a long time client of his. It ended up being a fantastic experience for Mark (my husband) not only has Gilbert been a stylist for 15+ years but he also specializes in men's hair. We also had the pleasure of meeting Gilbert's lovely wife as she was there getting her hair done by Jimmy.
Deborah - SOK – I've been going to Deborah since before she came to SOK and absolutely love the work she does. I get highlights, cut and blow dry and am extemely happy with all of her work. She doesn't try to pressure me into buying or doing anything I don't want unlike other stylists I have worked with in the past. I also like the casual atmosphere at SOK. Tim at the front desk is very friendly and helpful!
JR Rocks! – JR is a master color magician and scissors wizard. Not only can he style my very fine straight hair and make it look luxurious, he turns my husband's thick head of hair gorgeous, too. JR's extensive training, including tutelage in Europe and under such masters as Vidal Sassoon, serves to amplify the feeling of being in the hands of a master. JR and the entire SOK Staff, especially Tim, are extremely accommodating. SOK's product line is another big plus.
Count on Deborah! – Whether you want a special cut or hair you can wear, Deborah is the person who can deliver! She has the perfect blend of style opinion and listening to the customer and can translate your wants into a great hair style for you! She has cut hair for several of my family and friends for years now, and no one comes away disappointed. JR can make anyone look like a superstar!!!! – JR has been cutting my hair for about two years, he takes one look at you and next thing you know you look better then you have in years. He gives recommendations of what he thinks will look best without the pressure or snobbery of other salons...I walk in get a glass of wine and relax while my color sets. Finally a Salon that knows what they are doing!! – I moved to Houston 12 years ago and have never been able to find someone that knew how to cut, color and style my hair correctly. I went from Auburn to a fake Blonde. I hated it!! Then I called my cousin, an instructor for Paul Mitchell in San Antonio. He recommended SOK. I sat there and told JR to do whatever needed to be done. The owner of the salon has surrounded himself with talented and kind people, and the studio seems to reflect his personal taste. I love the haircolor that they do, and the cuts are suited to each individual person. My hair is always in better shape when I leave. A very good overall experience....
