I have had ST security for several years now without any real issues. Till today. The security system is good and the price is very good. However, the technical support I received today was suboptimal. The display box started beeping so I called to find out what the display message meant. The first girl explained I needed to change the battery in the power box. Smith Thompson is great UNTIL service is ending. Then they'll stick it to you. You'll be paying for service you didn't receive if you're not very careful. They ended my service when they could no longer monitor my house. I assumed since they initiated end of service they would stop charging me. But no, I checked my credit card statement after a few months ( which was dumb on my part) and they had charged my credit card $55 twice after service was discontinued. I called, pleaded, wrote letters to deaf, defiant ears. Beware
We're going on 4 years now with Smith Thompson for pest control and home security monitoring. They continue to earn our business with professional, courteous and helpful service. I also like that I'm supporting a locally-owned business that serves and employs the community. I highly recommend!
