Granted this is all my doing - the debt - hiring Slate. They did give me peace of mind, but the dollars out of my pocket will end up being more than the debt was. On top of that, my credit score understandable went way down.I enrolled a lot of debt - again my fault - I think it was around $100,000. I was paying $1,800 per month. I decided to cash in part of my retirement plan. I then pulled out about $75,000 of the debt from the program and paid it off myself. Slate negotiated the remaining debt at a discount. I would give negative stars if possible. This company has ruined our lives and I'd love to have all the victims come together to forge a class action lawsuit in order to get some justice. These people behind the scam are total scum that use nice normal people trying to do their job-but keeping them in the dark enough to be able to keep a level of innocence in their deception. Do Not use Slate Legal group!! These individuals are liars and scam artists. We were enrolled in the "program" 13 months and only a $1200 debt was settled after we paid in nearly $12,000 and $9,000 was taken in fees. We had one account take legal action and their answer was to declare bankruptcy! We were never late on a payment prior to starting the "program" with Slate and our credit rating dropped over 200 points and now all of our accounts have been turned over to collection due to lack of payment because in their words "... read more

Extremely poor customer service. Promise the world and clearly never deliver on their promises. Claim to assist in debt consolidation, but do very little if anything to provide any help, guidance, results or follow up. Very disappointed with their performance, be very, very cautious before making a decision to use them, do NOT make the same mistake that I or others have made!

Absolutely the worst decision I have ever made, they took me and my husband for so much money and NOTHING was ever resolved and now I'm in a huge mess with a litigation against me because of false information they were telling us. I cannot believe this place is in business and can legally do this to people, I could have had some debts settled with the amount of money I've paid them. DO NOT USE them.

I paid this Slate Legal Group over $9,000 dollars and they did not pay my creditors at all. They pocketed my money and did nothing in return. This so-called company is running a Scam and Fraud on innocent people, who are trying to get out of debt. I would like for Slate Legal Group to refund me my money. This Company should be closed down for the illegal practices they are doing.

Entered into a agreement with Slate Legal Group to help reduce my debt. They did so on 3 debts and now I have been sued on 2 others they were suppose to be working on. Slate was informed over a month ago and I was told it would go to there litigation department. Have called 4 times over the last month and told each time litigation was working on it. They promised they would settle my claims over a year and a half a go and I have paid $359 twice monthly since Feb. 5th, 2020 so almost $12,000 and I have less than $2000 left in my account via Global Holding Account that was setup. They have been charging massive fees draining the account and haven't settled one debt. Every time I contact them they promise me they would settle these debts as they did in the begging. SLATE Legal Group are among the worst, most unethical organizations I have ever experienced. The debt collectors that they "negotiate with on your behalf" are FAR more communicative and reasonable than SLATE. Do not trust a word that SLATE tells you. You're WAY better off hiring an actual lawyer to help you negotiate your debt settlements. Someone should file a class action lawsuit against SLATE.
