However with the demise of the Great Gorge Railway in 1938, the construction of a superhighway to Toronto, and excessive pollution strangling the river, the waterfront declined. The only activity was the piling of sand dredged from the river bottom. Beginning in 1978 the waterfront had a rebirth. The village trustees purchased the land and opened it up to fishing, and a launch was put into place. I was pleasantly surprised, that you guys where open today. When I walked with my daughter today, I couldn’t believe that there was ice cream at the river. There was only one problem, I didn’t bring my cash. I asked, after standing in line, if I could bring the money in a few minutes, and I was turned away (we don’t do that). Well....... don’t ever ask for your community, to help you ever again!
RecommendedI know it’s early in season and a lot going on . But the burger is not what it used to be hopefully that will change as the season goes on . Very organized and clean. Get Social Distancing Guidlines. Looking forward to go back.

We had a great visit at The Silo today. The staff was very considerate and did a awesome job accommodating everyone to the new policies that have been put in place. The food was amazing as always.
great staff & amazing food. busy and still a low wait time. hot and delicious, perfectly seasoned. this is a must with a view. 5 stars

I was brought here as a surprise date and man was it INCREDIBLE! We've come back multiple times ever since. Gorgeous view, amazzzzzing melt in your mouth food, and just a perfect atmosphere for every occasion.
