Dolphin watching is the best part of the stay if you are facing the creek. We stay on occasion, but not like we used to. It is unfortunate to watch everything else around Shem Creek Inn growing and improving but this hotel isn't. Although the rooms are clean and the staff very friendly, the hotel is in dire need of upgrading. There is an outdoor pool which is very nice however, families need to be aware that there is no washer and dryers on premises and their parking lot is a mess of sandy pot holes when it rains. This place is a great stay. They have a nice hotel, the location is right across the bridge, Cooper River Bridge, from Historic Downtown Charleston. You also are situated right next to some very reputable restaurants, all within a walking distance. Try Vickery's right next door. Cody at the Front Desk recommended it to me. All in all, a pleasant experience for the Shem Creek Hotel!

Love this place. Have stayed many times. Great staff, clean rooms and excellent location. Love watching the dolphins.
As much as this is a quaint place to stay. ......we just paid over 200 a night to have NO air conditioning. Really.... Yes it is hot outside. And it is your RESPONSIBILTY to be sure your guests are comfortable We have to go to the ER tomorrow You will hear about it.
We enjoyed our stay there so much =) Walking on the walk way ,looking out at the boats and people in the water. The best part was being able to see dolphins playing =)
We've stayed at the Shem Creek Inn twice and both times were great. Excellent service and great location for any need you may require. 5 restaurants within walking distance and 10 minutes from down town Charleston. 10 minutes from the shore as well. We will be returning and would recommend it to anyone. Thank You for the memories Shem Creek Inn.
Excellent value...Clean rooms, great pool, close to nearby attractions and the customer service is outstanding. Truly having a great time here. My length of stay is 5 days! Very satisfied customer would stay again!
