I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, a maintenance request submitted on June 17th,for the AC (there was warning about extreme hot weather this weekend) they said they won;t be able to fix it until Monday. I have lived at Hampton House for 2 years and it is the best experience! The landlord, Lewis is always so friendly and truly cares about his residents and staff. The maintenance team are amazing - going above and beyond to quickly resolve issues and keep the building clean. I highly recommend Shapiro & Company/ Hampton House to anyone looking to rent an apartment in DC!!

One of the very very few opportunities to live in a wonderful building that is well kept and well staffed with a landlord that is caring and thoughtful. Anyone who lives here simply won't regret it, and you definitely won't ever want to leave.

I have been living at Hampton House for almost a year and it is by far the best property I have lived in both NYC and DC. The apartment is lovely - high ceilings, wood floors, lots of light. It is an old building so the walls are nice and thick, and I can’t hear my neighbors at all. No pest problems. The owner takes a lot of pride in the properties because they are family owned - you aren’t dealing with some nameless, faceless company. I spent the last 5 years at 2700 Connecticut Ave NW and I absolutely loved it here. The only reason I am leaving is because my partner and I bought a condo in NE DC. We were absolutely spoiled by the location of 2700- it is literally across the street of the Woodley Park elevator. Our rent was very reasonable for the area because it is a rent controlled building. It will be tough to find a better value than this.
