About this business

Some people prefer modern restaurants with wall mounted tanks filled with exotic fish. They expect Art Deco lighting and chairs made more for the sake of art, than comfort. Well, we’re old fashioned. Thick wood beams, with over two hundred years of wear, stretch from ceiling to the floor. Our sturdy tables and chairs remain for their comfort, to craddle you while enjoying a delicious meal. A no frills atmosphere will keep you content, and coming back from more. With age comes experience.

Ibrought my daugter for her birthday. The service was slow, unfriendly, we sat on the deck so thought maybe we were forgotten about. The drinks were poor. The food was ok yet very over priced for quantity. We both ordered the shrimp/scallop Alfredo. We recieved 3 scallops and 3 shrimp. The shrimp was tough and tasteless. Dinner cost 21.00,with a side of carbs.no vegetables. Very disappointed, will not return

Fresh seafood and really great service. It was a short walk from my hotel and a beautiful walk home. The key lime pie was super.

Killer soft shell crab and oysters on the half shell to die for!

The Shanty is our go-to place for seafood. We happily drive 50 minutes to get there, knowing we'll always get great food and great service. The fried shrimp and scallops are always lightly battered and fried perfectly. And as much as I love their crab cakes, my new favorite is the maple ginger salmon. It's rich and just sweet enough to offset that little bite from the ginger. I must add that it goes very well with a Shanty Strawberry Moscow Mule. The only drawback to this restaurant is the lack of handicapped accessible rest... read more

Very yummy oysters and cocktail! I would have given 5 stars, but we didn't have dinner-- just apps. Looking forward to returning and having more time to stay and enjoy!

Calamari was good. Fish and chips and also the fried shrimp were just mediocre.
