Some people prefer modern restaurants with wall mounted tanks filled with exotic fish. They expect Art Deco lighting and chairs made more for the sake of art, than comfort. Well, we’re old fashioned. Thick wood beams, with over two hundred years of wear, stretch from ceiling to the floor. Our sturdy tables and chairs remain for their comfort, to craddle you while enjoying a delicious meal. A no frills atmosphere will keep you content, and coming back from more. With age comes experience.

We had lunch here today. Maddie our waitress was very friendly and efficient. The seafood was delicious and fresh! Key Lime pie for dessert💕 The view on the deck is amazing
Loved the place and the food. Our server was very accommodating and solicitous and the view of Lake Champlain made lunch with good friends all the more wonderful!

Lobster bisque in the bread bowl was superb. A tasty broiled haddock shrimp scallop seafood platter defined what a seafood platter should deliver to palate. I was so satisfied.
I love seafood... from Connecticut, so shoreline state as well. I have favorite restaurants & cook it myself. From the appearance/presentation, portions for the price, variety, to flavor... not to my liking! The setting was lovely & staff Awesome! just can't say that I'd go back or recommend...sorry!
A friend of mine and I went here. The food was pretty good, yet not phenomenal like I would of thought of a classy restaurant. I thought that my broiled seafood platter was good, but could of been seasoned more. The view of Lake Champlain was great, but what wasn't good was the food poisoning that my friend got which we determined was from the tartar sauce served on a hot, humid day. The atmosphere was great, the waitress was great, but the food is okay.
Excellent restaurant, food and service! Just love the new deck!!! We were there for my sons 29th birthday! I had the Caesar salad with grilled shrimp! The shrimp were grilled to perfection and the salad was crisp and flavorful! My son ordered clam strips and the portion size was amazing! I would highly recommend the Shanty to everyone!!
