RecommendedToday is definitely a day to acknowledge and brag on those at Shannon Women’s Imagining Center and Shannon clinic off of Jackson. My sissy had 2 appointments today - one at each place. The care and service at both places was amazing. I can’t say enough about how the employees at each facility made my sister feel. They saw us coming and immediately tended to our needs. Quality of care has diminished since the early 90's. Nurses and Hospitalist are under experienced, & it shows in the quality of care received. Attitude and Service is not patient oriented. Nurses spend more times on their cell phones than tending to put needs. Phones should not be allowed while working. Their current mission statement does not speak of the Shannon's mission to serve all persons regardless of income. Spent 6 hours in the ER tonight. 6. Was having chest pains and went in - got into a room straight away and was told to expect a 3 hour visit with all the testing and everything. I waited 2.5 hours after my second cardiac enzyme test and FINALLY got fed up so I hit the nurse call button to get an update because no one came by to check on me or anything. Shannon spends 10’s of millions buying and building, but they won’t staff an emergency room with enough doctors and beds to meet the demand. It’s wrong that Shannon doesn’t fix it, year after year, and their staff is left apologizing.

My husband has been in and out of the hospital for two months. The staff on 5south and 6 north have been great!

Dr Duarte and Dr Hughston are wonderful doctors, helping me cope with my medical issues and very sympathetic to my needs
