Dr. Kalantar is a seasoned surgeon and an amiable person. I went to see him in May 2017 due to the lower back pain. I appreciate his insightful and well-versed knowledge in the diagnosis of my spine ailments and gifted hands surgical skills for mending my degenerative spine at multiple levels. Dr. Kalantar saved me from setting in the wheelchair. Also, I thank MedStar Georgetown University Hospital for having such a talented surgeon.
I had a C4-C7 decompression and fusion. Results have been great. The pain level was moderate for a very short time. Dr. Kalantar listens and provides the options for the symptoms. He is very interested in his patients and spends the time to explain the procedures.
Dr. Kalantar was very professional in all aspects of his approach -- he took the time to clearly answer all questions, took the time to listen, is obviously very knowledgeable in his field, has a very reassuring air and approach, and was extremely pleasant to deal with. I heartily recommend him
I am writing this review as a family member of a patient of Dr. Kalantar. HE IS AMAZING & if I could give MORE stars I would. He is Chief of Ortho but remains so friendly & down to earth. He did a massive multi fusion & spine straightening on my Mom. 2 surgeries and 3 incisions at 75 years old! She is doing great! He took my calls after surgery or called back within the same day. He is busy but he CARES about his patients & he REMEMBERS WHO HE WAS before he was a Surgeon. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!
I have already recommended Dr. Kalantar to friends and family, and will continue to do so!
Dr. Kalantar is the best: great bedside manner, thorough when discussing issues. Both my wife and I had back surgery (3 years ago, and recently in 12/17) - good experiences both times. Highly recommend!
I had a cervical spine fusion done by Dr. Kalantar and I feel 100% better. Dr. Kalantar is a great doctor. He spent time with me, explained the entire procedure, and made me feel at ease. He has a very professional and reliable staff. I highly recommend Dr. Kalantar!
I read so many amazing things about Dr. Kalantar and my pain psychologist said he is brilliant. I was scared after my consultation with him last week because it was faster than I thought it would be. I hope it is only because he really does need the imaging ordered, and not because I can't be helped by him. I am so scared because I am counting him to help me get my life less pain filled after all this surgery I had from someone else. I am scared. I was told he is the go to doctor for hope.
It was a great experience - which I did not expect for back surgery! Dr. Kalantar was very accessible and he listened carefully. He was thorough, explained the procedure I was having in layman's terms without a lot of medical jargon. The entire surgery and care experience with his staff, residents, and others was great - Medstar truly has its act together thanks to people like Dr. Kalantar. I am in his debt as the post-surgery relief has improved my back situation tremendously.
