Amazing food! Great service! Beautiful atmosphere.
We had a great dinner & first experience at Selden Standard last night for my spouse's birthday. Our WONDERFUL server, Anna A., gave us some stellar food recommendations including the Sweet Potato Ravioli, the tartare and the steak frites. Of all of the dishes, only the gnocchi disappointed (and then only because of texture) - and Anna proactively removed it from our order total without the least bit of pressure from us to do so. First time coming here during the dinner rush and before a red wings game. I'm going to list the good and bad: The wait wasn't too bad, 15 min. Nice decor and ambiance. Server was nice and attentive. Highly recommend the cocktails. However, as others have pointed out here, you need to be used to a small plates / portions concept. Absolutely worth the wait! The bartenders were fantastic and made waiting 2 hours go by so fast. Once we were seated the food was superb. I ate things I don't even normally like, it was prepared so deliciously. I can't wait to visit again, one of my favorite restaurants in the area hands-down. The duck sausage was my favorite :)
I enjoyed my dinner the other night I had lamb meatballs the sauce was just a little salty and my server said she would let the kitchen know; I ask for wheat bread and another server brought me white bread instead as she was trying to explain the bread my server overheard the conversation and brought the wheat bread back to my table; good catch! I did notice that there were no people of color working there in both the front of the house and the back of the house as well.
