First and foremost Dr, Avera is an excellent and competent implant surgeon. When you first meet Dr. Avera and talk to him, you feel comforted that he is a specialist who has years of experience and will successfully resolve any dental issues you have. I was concerned about the pain of my front tooth implant surgery, but it turned out to be about 25% of what I thought it would be and I would attribute that to Dr Avera and his excellent staff who take great care of their patients.
Dr. Avera and assistants performed a difficult procedure and I was very pleased with the results. No pain, swelling or discomfort with a rapid recovery. Amazing what they can do.
He kept trying to sell me this $125-130 electric toothbrush. The third time he tried to sell it to me I told him firmly that I was NOT going to buy it. It became a bizarre Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde episode! He actually raised his voice loud enough for all the patients in the open adjoining rooms to hear and in a sing-song mocking manner, said You don't brush your teeth!!! You think you're so SPECIAL that you don't want my toothbrush! You don't want to be here! Go back to your other dentist!
For over 10 years, I have been a patient of Dr Avera and his amazing staff, and in all those years, I have only felt that I was receiving the absolute best care that could be offered to someone with some serious tooth and gum issues. I already have recommended a friend, also with serious problems, and she has been extremely grateful for the recommendation.
