Terrible. A total of 4 minutes to assess me, 1 minute to send me for an MRI, and 3 minutes on the phone to tell me I needed surgery. He was nonchalant and kept saying the surgery is "easy" and "not a big deal." Tried to contact him 6 times in a week to ask questions about the surgery (email and phone) and he NEVER responded. Appointment rushed, I felt like a number. The doctors are owners of the MRI place which felt like profit was prioritized over care.

I had an injured knee (bone chip) for over a decade and didn't realize it. Once cartilage began to deteriorate and present arthritis related issues Dr. Hormel discovered the injury. I had the chipped bone surgically removed and the bone appropriately trimmed. Dr. Hormel's guidance has given me renewed, pain free life in my knee. Several years have passed but on beautiful August days like today I can't thank him enough.

Nine years ago Dr. Hormel replaced my left knee joint with excellent results. So, this year when my right knee needed the same surgery, I chose to return to Swedish Hospital and requested Dr. Hormel for my surgeon. The staff is knowable and cheerful. It is seven weeks post op and again the results are excellent. I am able to do moderate outdoor work about the property-mowing via rider and push mowers, woodshop work, and brush work. Dr. Hormel was thorough. His matter of fact manner was no issue as he gave me excellent information and all the time I needed. My surgery was completely successful. I'm a critical consumer and was happy with service from beginning to end. Update: Dr. Hormel trimmed my Meniscus on my other knee a few months ago. Again, all went well and I'm able to be back to running at 64. Diagnosis and repair were right on. I'm a critical consumer and Dr. Hormel gets an A+.

I have seen Dr Hormel for knee issues over the past 10 years and think very highly of him. He is competent he has great bedside manner I trust him completely. He's also seen my mother for knee Replacements and actually repaired a bad job she had had from a different surgeon he's great!

Super surgeon. Doesn't jump into surgery as a first option, and is with you all the way as you try different options. When the time comes for surgery, he's terrific, kind and thorough. Can't recommend him more highly for knee surgery!

I had both knee replacement last year and I could not have asked for a better surgeon and team then dr hormel,Teresa,and Julie. It has been six months for my right knee and 3months for my left knee. I was walking the other day and I was walking normal with no pain which had not been the case in 10 years. It was amazing. I highly highly recommend dr hormel. As long as you do exactly as instructed followed by physical therapy your out come should be fantastic. Thank you dr hormel for new knees

I have had several orthoscopic knee surgeries with Hormel and finally a total knee replacement. He never oversold what the results would be and I fully respect that. It's up to the individual to put forth the effort, with Physical Therapy, to accomplish the desired recovery. It's just a matter of time before I have the other knee done, and there is no other doctor I would consider. :-)

I had patellae tendon surgery with Dr. Hormel and then saw him four times in followup. I give him the highest rating. Great surgeon with very good patient relations. His confidence not only helped me through surgery but afterwards in a long rehabilitation process. Have already recommended him to others
