About this business
This wonderful German bakery has been purveying rich coffee cakes, creamy mousse cakes and a cornucopia of butter cookies since 1911. The tiny space with a few tables and chairs is usually crammed with people trying to decide between the classic Swedish Princess (white cake with raspberry and kirsch custard and marzipan icing) and one of the many delicious French-inspired mousses and tarts. The fresh bread is also terrific, if you can tear yourself away from the Strawberry Romanoff.

Cafe Schubert is the best bakery in San Francisco I know - delicious cakes, cookies, coffee, etc. and courteous service in grand style a la European tradition! You simply have to try them. (Wished they had more tables .... )
If you love bread and pastries, you'll appreciate this bakery. I'm sure this is one of the best bakeries in town you can find.
One of my favorite place!They have the best mousse cakes in town! Ordered the chocolate mousse cake and it was the best cake I have ever had. Beautiful, and I thought great value for the money. Highly recommended!

Schubert's Bakery has excellent cakes Schubert's is a wonderful bakery in the Inner Richmond. They have a large selection of little tarts and cakes that taste as incredible as they look. Prices are reasonable and a little less than many other bakeries in town.
The BEST BAKERY HANDS DOWN I ordered a cake for a baby shower over the phone and spoke to one of the owners. He was gracious, friendly and extremely helpful in assisting me with the design of the cake. I can't say how beautiful the cake turned out when I picked it up. Out-of-this-world!!! – If you want to make a soujorn in Germany you simply have to visit Schubert's Bakery. I have tried about 10 different cakes and a variety of pastries and they are simply out-of-this-world! The combined experience of viewing these artisitc masterpieces, listening to the classical music which they broadcast while having my tastebuds tantalized is exceptional.
