I had my clutch replaced in my 1966 ford F250. The truck has been fully restored so I was concerned about getting a quality job. I decided to try Scholls Ferry Automotive. It ended up costing more than the original quote but Kris called me and explained why and his rational made sense. The new clutch worked fine but made a squealing noise. They took it back and replaced it at no charge and it works great! They are totally transparent and stand behind there work. I will definitely use them again!
Crooks, just like most of the other mechanics are. I read the the reviews and thought I could trust these folks. I am confident now that I was wrong and I will never recommend and I will never go back. I had my check engine light come on. I took my car to an auto parts store and used their obd2 tester and it spit out a code of p0850 park/neutral switch. Scholls Ferry Auto surprised me today with their honesty, and I will continue to use them as my primary shop. They provide service consistently at a fair price and on time. After many years of not using them, I started back about a year ago, and today, I brought my car in for what could have been substantial charges, but they found that most of the work didn't need to be done, did only what was needed, and charged me accordingly. I hardly ever complain, but I feel so swindled today that I have to say something about it. I called asking for a quote on replacing my windshield. The employee gave me two quotes, a cheaper option and a more expensive option. I have a crap car and these guys have been nothing less than fantastic in keeping it running well. They are honest about pricing, thoughtful in helping me set maintenance priorities, and have never pushed unnecessary service. Just as importantly, they don't talk down to me because I'm a woman. Sure, I could go somewhere slightly cheaper to get an oil change every few months, but nobody else is going to do the thorough inspection I get with them
Really good – I stopped by this place about 90 minutes before they closed to get a headlight installed and they were swamped. I tried my luck anyway and was told it might be an hour. I didn't want to locate another shop (even though I saw it was busy and close to closing for the day) so I waited. I was out the door in less than 15 minutes, and since I supplied the bulb, they waived the installation fee for me. I will definitely come back for any/all work I need done on my car. Great value and helpful advice – I have been coming here for a couple of years now, and can't recommend them highly enough. They are always very open about costs and time to complete work, as well as suggesting a cheaper or better way of doing things. This has led me to keep coming back.
