I placed an order on December 3, 2019 for 11 items with the total amount to be paid of $63.45. It showed in the bank that the funds were on hold so I just waited for my books in the mail. On December 9, 2019 I noticed a charge from Scholastic go through. It was for $45.19 less than my total purchased order so I was a little confused. I called and emailed this company about a subscription. When I called I was disconnected after my initial information was provided. I actually never called back to continue with my subscription, yet they enrolled me anyway. I got the subscription in the mail of magazines but honestly disregarded thinking they just wanted to show me what I was missing. It ended up being a full subscription. Never again, sending someone to collections over $35 that I never confirmed I wanted. Yep... not happening every again.
Do not use a debit/credit card or ******!! On October 22ND of 2018 I placed an order for 7 books for my daughter I thought all was well ****** showed the transaction as pre-authorized and placed a hold on the money. About 2 weeks later I received a letter through snail mail saying that the money was never paid even though ****** was showing them still having a hold on my money. I would not suggest purchasing from the scholastic website. I purchased items through scholastic book clubs online in the amount of $18.00, to be delivered to my daughter's classroom. I submitted payment through PayPal, payment was accepted, PayPal has the funds sitting there waiting to be collected by Scholastic. I recieved an email from Scholastic, now almost a month later, stating that my payment was declined and that I need to remit payment for the items, as they have already been processed.
