Scholastic *** is a rip off. My child is in the 1st grade his teacher encouraged us to order books through the school from scholastics. That was back in 9/21 no books have been received . I contacted his teacher. She said call scholastic. What a joke I was on hold for an hour. Yes an hour no one will ever come on the phone. The recording says were are sorry for any delays . I have been using Scholastic for 20 years as a teacher. Two years ago I placed an order using my bonus points. Scholastic used those points and charged me. I called to complain and was told I would get a refund. Well unfortunately that did not happen. Instead they said I still owed money, which did not make any sense. They then...charged my card without authorization. Wait do you think they stopped there? No they then kept calling my job and cell phone. I ordered some fall and Halloween books early September through my child's preschool class. Its November and there has been no word at all on the status of our order or anyone in the class. My card wouldn't allow scholastic to hold funds for more than 1 week so it automatically assumed fraud and canceled the hold, but its November and not one person in my kids class has gotten their scholastic books. Been a customer and never a problem in the past. Understanding that C19 has caused a slow down every where wasn't a huge concern. What was a concern was placing an order, making a donation and hearing nothing from the company. My fault for assuming they took their payment and I would receive the books when I would. It was a full month later that I started received another individual charge for the one time donation. I had order seven books from them. Only got two out of seven and one of my sons book wasnt in the package. I asked them to cancel my other four books that they had on back order and they didnt want to do it. They claimed they will put a request in for it to be cancel and will email me. Which they never did and still wont cancel my order of the other books

I have been a loyal costumer for many years and am so disappointed by this company. The first week back to school my students ordered books (August 2021). They were so excited as they had not ordered for an entire year due to covid. We are now in late October and we are still waiting for books! This is NOT ok. It is embarrassing and parents are complaining. I will no longer be sending home scholastic book ordered to families as this is a misleading business. Shame on you Scholastic!!!!

My daughter purchased books at the book fair at her school, it took them almost a month to take the funds. Then after taking out the amount of the bill, they put an additional hold on the same amount of the funds, making a double amount removed from my child's account, part of which was removed from her set aside funds to cover the hold amount. Basically they took out the funds, and did not remove the hold amount. Now she has to wait 5 days for the hold amount to be removed so she can have spending money!! This is a very unf... read more

Please investigate why I am not able to buy any books using my credit cards ( I used 3 different ones all from major carriers) but they instead will make me buy an eCard with the EXACT same card and it will magically work but then will force me to round to the nearest dollar and they will keep that money. How is this fair and good business? The book fair is virtual so there is no other way for me to support my school except online. I ordered a set of books for my son which was delivered. Scholastic has tried to charge my card at least 40 times for $8.33 even though I have not ordered anything else. My books have been delivered and paid for. I've written to customer service on three occasion. I've now had to lock my card to prevent these fraudulent charges. I will never order from them again!
