I met Dr. Purewal when I was an inpatient at Aurora Behavioral Health. As he has a private practice outside his work with Aurora, I decided to stay with him as he knew my case. I have found him to be a very capable and compassionate provider. My biggest complaint with his is the constant "running late" experienced at just about every visit. I assume a wait time of over a hour when I plan any day that has an appointment with him.
I highly recommend Dr. Purwal. He is very knowledgeable and so kind.
I have been Dr. Purewal‘s patient for 14 years. He is very knowledgeable, compassionate and professional. I do wish his office staff or more professional and customer friendly.
In my opinion, my mother would be alive today were it not for Satinder's incompetence. He misdiagnosed my mother with anorexia and hospitalized/drugged her for that when, in fact, she had severe cardiovascular disease. He failed to listen to my concerns. He dismissed my assessment of my mother. He ignored my harbingers about the drugs. And my mother ultimately died less than two years later. Keep people you love away from him; that's my advice.
Could not ask for anymore compassionate or helpful DR. and staff they are the best in the field.
I have been seeing Dr. Purewal for over a year now and have been highly satisfied. He always listens to my questions and really seems to care how I'm feeling. There is normally a little wait but that just shows you that he takes his time with each and every patient and will do what he needs to help your situation. I would recommend him to anyone.
Dr. Purewal is a very educated phsychiatrist. He knows his stuff. The only downside is if you don't see him on his first AM appointment plan on waiting at least an hour. I am very regular on my meds. I wish my insurance covered me seeing the NP or PA. With John Martin it's in and out. I liked seeing him most of the times as long as there is no major med changes or I am in crisis. But my plan changes. I love Doc Purewal but the wait ugh!'
I've been seeing Dr. Purewal for 3+ years now, and I'm finally fed up. Not only is it hard to even see him (thanks to wait times that can exceed 1 hour and the frequent offloading of patients onto his underqualified assistants, not to mention the annoying TV shows constantly played in the waiting room) but he is just not very helpful. He's reluctant to offer insight on different meds, or ask anything but checklist questions. I got the feeling that he wanted me to make all the decisions for him.
