Satchel’s was awesome! One of a kind decor, simple menu, good food and great service. The salad is fabulous 😊
I have been to Satchel's Pizza on several occasions in the last five years, but I would never recommend it. The quality has steadily declined. Tonight I even got chards of black plastic in my $40 pizza. In addition, the waitstaff has become substantially less interactive, and the wait during non-peak hours has become even longer. The facilities are also not maintained properly, and the overall experience is very dirty.

Sorry you feel this way. I work hard to keep everything clean. Our kitchen is spotless and there's a lot of art to maintain but we have a full time maintenance man. Consistency is always on my mind also and we have many of the same kitchen staff for over 10 years. The servers do tend to get more turnover so I'm sorry you had a bad experience and low interaction. I'll work on this aspect more. 1 star, wow. That's really saying something. So sad it's not for you
Rarely have I hers so much talk about a place that misses the mark so clearly. Pizza is about the dough, the cheese and the sauce. If you miss on any one of those 3 it doesn't matter what you put on it or in it. Satchel missed on 2 out of 3. The crust/dough is drier than cardboard and where's the cheese. I will admit the sauce wasn't bad and the salad was good but that doesn't make it for a Pizza joint.. You can get a "slice" almost any place in NYC that puts Satchel to shame.
The salad here, much like the decor, has a little bit of everything. Very flavorful. It's plenty big enough for two. The pizza was thin and crispy and the sauce had a sweeter taste to it. The crust was the best part! It tasted like a fluffy, buttery breadstick. Ask for a dessert menu even if you don't want dessert, trust me. I love how it is presented!
