Brainchild of Chef Barry Horton, Sanctuary Bistro is a vegan, family-owned restaurant which serves delicious plant-focused, American cuisine. Their ingredients are completely organic and gluten-free and are freshly sourced from their own garden. They serve an extensive menu with suggested wine pairings, out of which, the Grilled Portobello with the Mary Elke chardonnay is a must-have. The interiors are very sophisticated and laid back with wooden seating and nature-inspired decor.

The food was incredible. Super friendly waitstaff, not hovering, not "where the heck are they", the perfect in-between. The creme brulee for dessert was so good we had to fight the temptation to order 5 more and just gorge ourselves!
Business response:
Thank you so much! We were so glad that you were at Sanctuary Bistro. Creme BRulee!!!!!!!
Best Berkeley lunch I've had in a while - vegan or not.
Hi Jennifer. I'm an fb friend. Newly vegan and want to applaud and encourage your family for opening such a wonderful sanctuary. I live in Ventura and wish we had more places on the planet like yours... and pray that it will come to pass in our time.
