Had been treated for Parkinson’s Disease (and related symptoms) for the past few years and Dr Sanan recognized through CT scans and spinal tap that problem could be Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus and he did brain surgery to insert a shunt. The result is dramatic with physical symptoms (balance, gait, coordination, etc) improving by 80% and cognitive impairment improving by 60% (my estimates)!!! I could not be more pleased and I would highly recommend Dr Sanan and his team to anyone in need of Neurological Surgery.
Very personable and explains everything fully. Has wonderful bedside manners. Wants to answer all questions that you may have. Finally a great surgeon - one that you can trust.
Dr. Sanan and his team are professional and very nice. He explained what was going on with me and went over all my options. My surgery was quick and without complication. I couldn’t ask for anything more.
Dr. Sanan did a great job explaining what my condition was, (collapsed disc L3-L4 right side) and what he could do to fix it. He also explained that my condition was treatable with surgery, and added that he has to turn away patients that he cannot help. That is very important because many patients have surgery that does not help. I am 13 weeks post surgery and am able to walk two miles/day without any pain.
Excellent efficient and effective care. Staff very friendly. Neurosurgeon was perfect for my diagnosis and proficient in his care.
I highly recommend Dr Sanan for being a neurosurgeon if you are in need. He diagnosed my problem, decided on my best option, then carried out the plan flawlessly. His staff was very helpful, professional and organized.
After careful research I opted to go with Dr. Abay Sanan he had great reviews all true. I had an appointment the first week of May and had surgery scheduled May 16th. Dr. Sanan saw me for a 17 mm thoracic level 3 -4 lesion. His bedside manner put us at ease he explained the whole procedure the risks, to my husband and I we left his office well-informed. Dr. Sanan and staff are very professional, thorough, and personable. Dr. Sanan came highly by the anesthesia group that my wife works with. He is an amazing surgeon that I would highly recommend to anyone!!! His NP and MA compliment the staff very well. The Center for Neuroscience, which is where Dr. Sanan practices, is a well oiled machine and is very efficient.
