Customer Service is Fantastic! – Samy's Camera in Culver City is great. I came in right before closing and Jerry S was more than willing to help me. I had lost my charger to my digital camera and although the camera was discontinued he took the time to find a charger that would work. People should really stick to these "smaller" specialized business' not only is their pricing reasonable but their customer service is fantastic!!! Next time you have a question or are looking for anything camera related try Samy's.
Great Prices – I'm giving 5 stars based on my personal experience I continue to have with a the one person I deal with there. This person's communication skills, courtesy and understanding of my needs and price range are unparalleled.
Wow...Samy's is very fortunate to have an employee like Jimmy working for them. A worker like that is truly hard to come by these days, an employee with such a great attitude and genuine desire to assist the customer! I've shopped here a few times. They always have what I need at this store. I usually can't find anything on my own so I always have to ask somebody. They have been helpful in the things I need.
can be daunting for a 1st timer – The people that work there are introverted-know-it all about cameras. They really don't have any people skills. It's best to have done your research about a particular camera prior to visiting there b/c you'll inadvertently be made felt to be dumb. I've only gone to this one outfit in venice & have yet to experience their customer service at the other locations. Limited selection, not much in the way of rentals – If you're coming here for rentals, they have a variety of video equipment but not much in the way of still photography (you have to go to their Fairfax location for that). Still, their staff was friendly and I got a really good deal on my camera, which included a photo printer and a year's worth of digital prints. Their prices were reasonable but I have to go to their Fairfax location for rentals.
Everything you'd need but help – Samy's has just about everything a professional photographer would need unless, of course, you actually need some information. The supplies people seem friendly enough, but the fellas behind the camera counter seem universally disinterested in actually selling you anything.
