Good Cupcakes, nice interior – I love the big pink outdoor umbrellas and the pink interior is way cool, but the cupcakes are just average. Good, but not great. The three of us tried several different kinds one Saturday afternoon and they were super sweet with pretty dry cake. I wish they were more moist and that the frostings had more flavor than just "super sweet". Of the six different types we tried, the carrot cake was the best and the red velvet the least favorite. Maybe we were there on an exceptionally busy day, we'll ... read more
Yum, Yum, Yum.... – Stopped in the other day with the family after a trip to Jamison Square. The cupcakes were moist, and the frosting was perfectly sweet. I had the toasted coconut cupcake, and the hubby had the Chocolate Toffee. Both VERY good. The girl at the counter was very sweet, and quick on service. Can't wait to try more.
It is Worth a Visit – I'm torn about this place, but I love the decor, and the idea of a cupcake shop just sells me (I ate many a cupcake in my childhood). I just wish the cupcakes were better. For some reason, all the decor and hype raises my expectations. They are yummy cupcakes, although I visited today, and they appear smaller or have my hands become chubbier? No, the cupcakes appear smaller. They have vegan options, which is always a plus. Despite my gripes, I will go back to this place, particularly because I like givi... read more
Cute Place... – I was pretty dissapointed with the cupcakes today, they tend to be on the dry side. The last time I was there I also thought this, but I gave them another try to be dissapointed again. The cupcakes seemed smaller today with less frosting. i also experinced too soft frosting that seemed to melt on a previous visit. I think the price is too high for what you get. Very cute place, the decor and concept are just what Portland needed but it does not live up to expectations. I also visited the Belmont store and was... read more
love west-side cupcakes more than their east-side friends... – I love, love love Saint Cupcake in NW PDX...love the chocolate with cream cheese dots, loved the seasonal pumpkin and eggnog cupcakes, love the Big Tops....but I love the Belmont store much, much less. It's really a bit of a strange concept, set inside a shabby chic odds-and-ends shop, with no display case (much sadness) and no flexibility whatsoever in picking out my beloved little cakes. The one time I did purchase a couple of boxes there, on my way to a friend... read more
Delicious! – I have officially turned into a cupcake fiend. My boyfriend and I have been to Saint Cupcake 3 times in the last 3 days. It's becoming a problem. My absolute favorite is the chocolate with chocolate buttercream. The buttercream is so light and airy! But the coconut is a strong second. Absolutely delicious! We have eaten almost every type of cupcake they offer, and they are all delicious! Worth the calories!
Mmm...cupcakes! – The cupcakes are awesome! There is a lot of variety (though not too much an hour before closing) in the cupcakes, and they are moist, soft, sweet and delectable. My husband surprised me with a happy birthday message written on each of my cupcakes, so they do special things if you ask. We tried red velvet, chocolate with chocolate buttercream and vegan cookies n' cream. They were all delicious, and my seriously meat-eating sister couldn't believe a vegan cupcake could taste so good--I was surprised at how mo... read more
New location needs to sell cupcakes like original location – We were so excited to see that Saint Cupcake was opening a location on the east side right across from Zupans in Belmont. We went there today, the second day they were opened. The shop is darling, but the cupcake sales are drastically different than the original location and there is nowhere to sit and eat. The cupcakes at this location are sold in pre-sorted boxes called "Shark Week" (for all white cupcakes), etc. It doesn't appear that you can buy your favorite c... read more
go for the buttercream – the cupcakes are moist and delicious and the buttercream frosting is the best. the place is adorable, and the employees are helpful. i don't care for sweets that much, but i definitely enjoy a vanilla dot with vanilla buttercream...mmmmm!
