I have had Farmers for years and at times I thought they are a bit on the expensive side, however, it wasn't until I had a very minor accident that I realized why I have stayed with them for nearly a décade. If I could rate this company with a no star, I would. I had water damage, and had my roof repaired. However, since I was in the process of disputing the roofer's billing, another contractor came in and found mold in the attic. I called Farmer's to find out why it wasn't noticed when they came out to repair the damages. I find out that "mold" isn't part of my policy. I was hit by an insured driver through Farmers and it was deemed the driver was 100% liable. It was an incredibly slow claim process, resulting in quite a bit of time of missed work. Once in repair, Farmers denied a repair to the car that was damaged in the accident. They also didn't replace car seats that were in my car at the time of the collision, so I am left with potentially unsafe carseats and a car that is still damaged. Unfortunately I had a water heater that was 5 years old bust and cause water damage. I went ahead and setup for the dry out folks to come out and the next day filed a claim. Here I am 21 days later after spending almost everyone of those days trying to get help with no resolve. The adjuster came out and quoted 2800$ to repair all the sheetrock in 2 rooms finished and painted, 3 other areas painted, 2 cabinets fixed and reinstalled and the plumbing in the bathroom put back together from where they had to rip the cabinet out. ... read more

I cancelled my renter's insurance on a new policy during the first week, actually I never bought the policy because I left down payment and never finished signing the paperwork so technically i was never insured, and not only I didn't get a refund but got sent on a collection agency for $30. and this after 7 years being a policy holder with them thieves. Outrageous. DO NOT BUY ANY INSURANCE FROM FARMERS. I ve cancelled all kinds of insurances many times and usually I get a refund, not with those thieves...

Price gouging at its finest with this company. O didn't realize for 3 years that I was being price gouged with my homeowners insurance. My escrow account kept going into the negative and my mortgage payment kept creeping up every year for some reason. Finally decided to figure out why for myself and found that Farmers Insurance was charging me an outrageous premium that crept up substantially every year. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Switched to a different insurance purely for rate reasons, high deductibles and I'm not made of money. Never had a problem with Farmers insurance's services. Except now that we hit a semi tire in the road, the new insurance needs to verify the switch dates. On a conference call with me, they contacted the Farmers rep, told him the situation, and he said, "No thanks" and HUNG UP ON US. Farmers is the insurance of the teenager that hit my car. They accepted 100% liability for the accident because it was not my fault.
