Dark, cozy, elegant and intimate, Russian Tea Time has only been here since 1993, however it has since become a Chicago treasure. Inside the elegant Mahogany and Birch dining room, the kitchen serves specialties from the former Soviet republics which includes every where from Tajikistan to Belarus. To me, it’s great. Russian cuisine is a crossroads of cuisine. Both in the traditions of Escoffier, and the Russian Empire extending from Europe to the Pacific. Within that expansive land is flavors from the Far East sitting coy in European fine dining presentations. Which is fascinating to taste.
A “Must Visit” for any trip to the Windy City! From the timeless Borscht to the flaky strudel...unforgettable enjoyment!
