Mediocrity in a sea of excellence – My family and I had not visitied Ruggles Cafe in quite some time - our recent visit reminded us why we have stayed away. Ruggles is located in the Rice Village amidst many fine restaurants and fun shops. Great food – I have been several times to this Ruggles now and have not been disappointed at all. Every single thing I have tried on their menu has been excellent. Last time I was there, a line to the door was prominent for the entire evening....proof, in my opinion, that this place has great food!
Nice joint – Friends have told me for years to go here and my husband and I finally got here last week. We took the advise of friends and got sandwichs and soup and shared. The portions are huge. We ordered one roast beef sandwich and a bowl of black bean soup. The sandwich was wonderful. The only down side was the dining area was a little dirty. It could of just been a busy day so I will go back again.
Great for Dates! – This is one of my more favorite places to take a date, girlfriend or even wife (even though I haven't gotten one of those yet, but I plan on it.) Great chocolate cake... THE BEST!!!
great food and desserts!!! – the food is great- i like the tomato basil soup, potato wedges and the alfredo, my friends like the wraps and hamburgers. the desserts are the stars at this place, order the white chocolate bread pudding!!! beautiful presentation at a laid-back place.
Yum – I usually only come here for one thing: white-chocolate bread pudding. Those are the best! Never had it anywhere else. I have dined on their lunch/dinner menu, and they're satisfying; nothing real impressive, just normal food, but their desserts are delicious!!
Everything I great.... except the dessert? – I eat here at least once a month, their trio salad is delicious. Their burgers are really good and on awesome buns. Their daily specials are also usually very good. The only thing I have learned is that the dessert is pretty mediocre, especially for what you pay. I don't know if they make it too far ahead, or what, but the cakes I have tried have all been dry, and the tart that I gave a chance was soggy! Food here is tasty and decadent – This place is great for all types of food. They have awesome desserts! If you need a dessert, this is the place for you! They have a chocolate and peanut butter mini-pie that is out of this world. They also have cheesecakes, cookies, brownies, etc. Their burgers are yummy, their soups soothing. I don't drink coffee so I can't speak on that topic.
Great Food, Terrible Mochas – I LOVE Ruggles food and the desserts, they are both excellent. I only have one complaint: I don't understand how a place with such excellent food and dessert can have such terrible mochas. I have tried to order their mochas on several occasions, all the time hoping they would improve them. I have even sent one back and asked for a stronger one.
