Excellent atmospere & service! – We went there for a lunch, got table in a minute - a perfect one! service was fast, helpful & nice! The food was good enough, but not what I would expect from a french restaurant!... but the average food was balance by good service & atmosphere! I would recomend to go there for a lunch, to have a healthy salad & unhealthy dessert!-)

Perfect Steak Frites, Martinis, and Location – We were first introduced to this Fab restaurant by the Concierge at Waldorf 4 years ago. Since then we have had lunch 3 x and dinner 4 x ,plus cocktails and Sushi numerous times. Yes, Sushi! My husband loves sushi and , even though this is a bistro with French overtones, they have an an amzing Sushi Chef just off the bar ready to make you whatever you enjoy. I my self have had the steak and fries( frites) , chicken and various desserts. Try it on a warm summer day when the slidi... read more

I did not rue the day I tried Rue 57! – I was recently in New York and this place had been recommended to me. Over all is was a good experience, in fact I went for dinner and for lunch. Upon arrival for dinner, we did get the long size up once over once evaluation from the, and I am guessing here legal age young hostess. Apparently we passed muster because we were promptly seated at a nice corner table and an amiable, helpful, communicative waiter quickly came over and took our drink orders. The menu is vast and it was hard ... read more

Reasons to Rue going there – I'm so sorry I went there. The "maitre d'" behaved so badly I wanted to cry. It was a holiday gathering of a few old friends, but we couldn't hear each other --- there was loud hip-hop music playing in this French restaurant. There weren't too many people under 40 there, so I didn't feel out of line asking the waiter for gentler music. In a frantic response, he says he can't do anything about it. He can tell the maitre d' but it won't do any good. And that was true. When I asked the maitre d' mys... read more

great atmosphere especially in warm months when all doors and windows are opened – i have never had such an amazing tortelli of butternut squash, the sushi is really nice as all the steaks, the only thing is it can get very noisy and you can really get your bill really high really fast, but its so worth it

Best Lunch Spot, Great Place for Pre-drinks – The atmosphere is fun and chic, the food is excellent and the host is sooo sweet (Jack!). I love it at lunch time, less expensive, excellent food, awesome people-watching (Hi, Regis who is right next to our table) and really nice and airy in the summertime when they open the windows. Awesome place for a work-lunch, lunch-date, evening glass of wine or dinner with a friend.

Good place to eat at the Bar – We go here all the time for sushi at the bar. It has some of the best sushi in NYC. The decor is like a brasserie and has a fairly laid-back atmosphere.

Rude Waiters – I came to Rue 57 on a date a few months back and the waiter was rude, pushy and had no social skills whatsoever. I thought the price was high for what we had, but expected for a French restaurant in NYC. The atmosphere was crowded and relatively loud due to the proximity to the other tables. The wine arrived at the same time as the food with no time to let the wine sit. The waiter poured the wine so quickly that it splashed and was dripping down the outside of both glasses. After pouring our wine, he slammed t... read more

THE MOST AWFUL RESTAURANT IN NYC – Service was horrible, food was horrible, got water splashed all over me and all I got was a lousy eye look from the waiter. No need to say anymore about this place. Take my advice, and stay the HELL AWAY!!!!!
