Good British food. Love the atmosphere downstairs. Didn't venture upstairs but here that's great also.
The food was Americanized but decorations were spot on,
We want to send a special thanks today to the Royal Mile. Beyond their great service and amazing food, they treated our dog like a princess today. They set her up outside with her own water bowl and a burger on the house upon learning she was dying of cancer. This meant the world to us. Thank you as always for the great service and the gift you gave us today. Tears. So very kind.
Awesome staff, great beer. Very nice cozy place to get away from all of the bass bumping of clubs
Stopped here after Book of Mormon to meet family for supper. Food was excellent! We will definitely come back. Oh, beer was good, too.

As a Brit, visiting an "English pub" in central Iowa I must say I entered with a somewhat sceptical mind. But as I sat down to enjoy a pint (well almost a pint) of Hobgoblin ale, I must say I rather warmed to the place. No, it's not what English pubs are really like, but you wouldn't expect it to be would you. What was important was there was a good atmosphere, good food, and a good selection of ales. If I'm back in Des Moines again, I wouldn't hesitate to return.
