With a history of significant ankle issues, three surgeries later, I can walk pain free. Within the past 18 months, I have had 3 ankle surgeries - arthrotomy to correct bone alignment, a total ankle replacement, and a revision of the ankle replacement. Dr. Sanders was recommended by multiple physicians as the best orthopedic surgeon in central Florida. After meeting him and I understood why he held in high regard. He expedited my surgery to get me on the way to recovery as quick as possible. As a dive instructor, every moment out of the water was time away from trade. From injury to my next dive was 12 weeks because of his experience and technique. Some doctors practice medicine, Dr Sanders has mastered his craft.
Excellent outcome on a difficult surgery on BOTH feet. 14 weeks after surgery, I am walking on them again.
I fractured my left heel two years ago. A very good doctor in Minnesota operated on it but didn't fix the problem. I was left with a significant limp and was in constant pain. I went to Dr. Sanders and he fixed it. I am now completely pain free and walk with only a slight limp. Dr. Sanders is an incredibly talented surgeon. He is also a really decent human being who really cares about his patients. I'm so gratified I went to him.
Back in 2001, I was in a car accident and hit a tree. I had broke both ankles. At the time I was told I would probably have to have both ankles fused. Over the course of 20 years more arthritis and pain just walking occurred. I researched extensively for the best ankle doctor. Dr Sanders has now completed successful subtalar midfoot fusion surgery on both of my feet. My first surgery was in August, 2019 for my left foot. I returned in May, 2022 to have Dr. Sanders perform fusion surgery on my right foot. Before surgery, I experienced pain and swelling with every step I took due to having flat feet and fallen arches, along with arthritis, no cartilage, torn ligaments and torn tendons. Dr Sanders was an answer to my prayers. I had polio in the 1950’s and as I aged, I have always been reluctant when it comes to my foot and doctors. I am now in my sixties and had my worse nightmare and broke and dislocated my first metatarsal in my left foot and I. totally panicked! I was fortunate enough to get Dr Sanders to do the surgery. He is amazing! I never had any pain at all from my surgery. Dr Sanders staff was great! I walk better now than I did 25 years ago !! Thank you so much
I was a patient of Dr Sanders for just about one year. I was in a horrific car accident and snapped my lower leg in half in several places. Dr. Sanders did the very best he could do for me. After several surgeries and the installation of a rod from my knee to my ankle, I can walk again. I do walk with a limp and have instances of pain and loss of movement in my ankle.
