I called to have our Kitchen Sink drain rooted out and was quoted $585. I told him we wouldn't pay that amount and he said he had a $75 coupon. He then said he could "negotiate" something that I thought was "fair". I was texting my husband to see what we had paid in the past and my husband called back to talk to him. Beware the bait and switch from this company. When they tell you they are giving you a discount, don't believe it, it's all apparently a shell game to them once they have your credit card information. Trying to get a call back from anyone, from the person who wrote up the discounted quote to the general manager, is an exercise in futility. Take your business and your hard earned money to a company with higher ethical standards than this operation.

I called rotorooter for a clogged kitchen drain. An online advertisement said they were located in Kenosha, WI giving a local address and phone number. They sent us a technician who said they cleaned out the main branch line for $538. In the process, the elbow pipe/p-trap had to be removed and was found to be damaged. The tech informed us he could not fix it because he wasn't a plumber. Roto-rooter came out on 12/31/2020 DURING THE LATE MORNING (not evening) because I had a broken and leaking water heater. Unfortunately with it being New Year's Eve I couldn't get any other company to come out so I was stuck with them. On the day that my water heater was leaking I thought they were a God-send because I just wanted to get the water leakage stopped, so I had given them a good review online when they asked me to that day. Terrible company! I would never do business with Roto Rooter again! They’re extremely unorganized; the right hand doesn’t know what the left is doing; they came to check out a leak which left me with machines drying the spot where the leak was and that coasted $1044.00 even though they left it days longer than required due to no one being able to pick them up supposedly. Ticket Number ********- Devastation and destruction, Roto-Rooter arrived on time Monday 12/29/2020, the service person was polite, but beyond that, I have a million questions that were never answered. Our kitchen sits on a concrete slab and does not have a basement under it. Therefore the drain and plumbing run through the concrete. The pipes going to the kitchen slab can be seen in the basement wall. Just before Thanksgiving we noticed water coming from those pipes and running down the wall, over the basement floor to the drain - so it was a pretty significant leak. Roto Rooter is very deceptive. I was told that there was no trip fee, service charge, etc. I had a tiny measuring spoon caught in my disposal and I wanted an estimate for draining sediment from my water heater as well. The man showed up and reached into the disposal and pulled out the spoon. It took 2 seconds. He said he wouldn't charge me for that. Then when I asked about draining the water heater tank, he said the charge would be $300 an hour (and it would take approximately an hour)! That hourly rate is extraordinarily ex... read more
