a hometown favorite Ross' has been around for over 50 years, which attests to their popularity. Serving the traditional Iowa loose meat sandwich, their menu also includes tenderloin and other sandwiches and platters. The location is very convenient and close to local tourist attactions. A must eat!
5+ years ago I left a 5 star review I just deleted. First time in since they moved. The prices are higher than I remember which wouldn’t have been bad... But the food was horrid. The bun they use on the ross burger has a weird taste and is not as good as what they used to have. And the serving sizes are smaller than I remember as well. I’m disappointed to write this review because we have visited Ross’ many times and almost always had a good meal with good service. We came in tonight (Saturday night) to eat at 6:30. The restaurant seemed busy, but not full. We were seated, it was myself and my 2 kids. I was not given any kids’ menus, nor asked if we wanted any and then told she’d bring us silverware and never came back. We waited for 7 minutes at our table and no server came. we went they yesterday. chicken strips were over cooked so sent it back and was a little better but still tough which my wife can eat cause of a swallowing issue she has. and by time got them back as he was getting full from salad and fries. wont be eating here again. now know why never busy. waitress told us next time to tell them ahead time to not cook chicken so much. really? wont be next time. all we got was sorry. thought they mite take something off for our troubles but guess not.

Love this place!! The owner is so sweet and the food was great!! Awesome service here
Went there today. Met 2 family members. They were very congenial and spent time chatting with us. Very clean. Great breakfast , huge servings. Definitely will go back. From SW Iowa.
Haven’t been here for a few years but the volcano magic mountain is just as good as I remember it being.
