The grounds are so beautiful.
First bad sign: there was a Small fire when my sister plugged in her phone: burst of flame and sparks, puff of smoke. Power went out in the room. Next problem: They lost the record of our reservation. Front desk staff doesn’t have the power to veer from protocol and can’t contact supervisors because “it’s the weekend”. So this inn issi quaint. It is an old mansion converted to an in /B&B. The place is like art deco meets a small French countryside village. It needs work obviously but the overall experience was nice. Nick is by far the best front desk person they have there. Everyone else was meh. Our room was nice but many of the drawers for the dressers were missing handles. In understand trying to keep the nostalgic drawer pulleys BUT it would be better to have functional drawers. The breakfast was nice. I would stay there again. Thanks.
Very unusual place, but i love it. Ideal place to hole up and write.
We enjoyed our overnight stay, from a smooth check-in, to the warmth of the fireplece in the lounge, to the charm of our room, the amenities of coffee, and a good variety of the included breakfast. Our room was clean, comfy, and we were able to enjoy sitting out in the garden patio. Secured gates at night with buzzer entry...will stay again if we're in Berkeley! 8 blocks to UC Berkeley...nice walk!
A pretty little place. I loved our room, just the right size and very pretty. As our daughter was at Cal, I always wanted to stay here, finally my hubby got us a room. The gardens are nice and the staff were friendly and helpful.
