A very relaxing and comfortable eatery, Roots Restaurant and Bar is a nice place to unwind after a long day at work. Happy Hour is a popular feature among folks which starts from 3 pm and goes onto 6 pm everyday. The patio offers another nice change on a warm, sunny day.

Dig a little – This was the second time my wife and I ate at Roots. The food was awesome, fresh and inventive. We concentrated on seafood this time, with mussels and razor clams as an appetizer and were both very fresh and very tasty. Company function – We used their private room for a company dinner. Good wine selection. Server had wine knowledge. Our European partner found a wine that he liked from Europe. Will use for our company Christmas party.
If Noise were the only problem... – I think we all know noise in a restaurant is common place today. Brad came to Roots from Higgins and Wildwood - hence the noise and good food. The wait staff, most notably the hostess and bartender. If you are "allowed" to sit in the bar, the bartender lacks the requisite personality normally found in the spirits industry. Really Made Our Special Occasion – We had only tried Roots for happy hours. We invited four friends out for Valentines dinner and wanted everything to be perfect. We had early reservations and our table was ready and waiting for us. Our server was an absolute delight and able to handle the different personalities in the group. Best food in Vancouver/Camas – By now my wife and I have had dinner at Roots over a dozen times (we live in the area). Its amazing, but we've never been disappointed. The food and staff are just great! The menu changes monthly which is very nice. We've eaten in all the best places in Portland and would place Roots with the best of them. Nice not to have to cross the river for great dining!
Fabulous! – We finally made the drive from Portland to Camas, WA to try Roots Restaurant and Bar. The drive was shorter than we expected, easy and relaxing. We were extremely impressed by the dramatic, ultra- modern interior- warm but uncluttered, beautiful low lighting, rich earthy woods, impressive doors. Good Not Great – After reading the two wonderful reviews of Roots (and knowing that the Chef used to be at Higgins), we arranged for a dinner with some friends. Drinks were wonderful ($7-$8 each) and our waiter was very nice. However our consensus was that the evening was "fine". The food was "good". This is a must try! – Roots is the best thing to hit Vancouver in a long time!! I'll say just one thing - don't even think twice about trying this one - JUST GO!! Fabulous all the way around.....and hopefully will be around for a very long time.
